A Note on Fit: Our Trusted Sister Clinic for Adult Therapy

While Creative Sky began with a focus on child and teen therapy, we know that adults need strong, specialized support too — especially when juggling careers, parenting, neurodivergence, or complex emotional landscapes.

That’s why we launched NU Psychology — our sister clinic just minutes away — to offer adult therapy with a deeper bench of specialization.

If you're navigating ADHD, OCD, trauma, depression, anxiety, or relationship challenges as an adult, you may be best matched with one of our experienced clinicians at NU. Many of our adult referrals are supported through this clinic to ensure the highest-quality fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first session mostly involves gathering information about why you are seeking therapy and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. It is an introduction for your therapist to understand how they can best support you with your current challenges. Additionally, you will start to build a relationship between you and your therapist, and establish how you can best work together to create healthy changes. You can expect to learn more about yourself, process experiences, and learn how to move through challenges with awareness.

  • This is completely up to the individual. You may ask your therapist what they think is best, but ultimately this is up to you. However, this depends on multiple factors such as the severity of your concerns or challenges. At Creative Sky Psychology, our mission is to help you become the best version of yourself. We recommend attending counselling sessions until you feel and see the changes you are desiring.

A child will certainly benefit from seeing a Psychologist when they have struggles at home, school, or in the community. A Psychologist will ask about the impact an issue is having on your child’s functioning and well-being. It is best to seek help sooner than later. Often difficulties can become internalized, causing additional issues. This is often the case with social, emotional, or academic issues. When left untreated, children can develop anxiety or depression, and may experience long term difficulties.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based therapy used at NU Psychology. ACT allows individuals to align their actions with their personal goals and values. It encourages individuals to develop flexibility, personal agency, and to move with thoughts and emotions rather than control them. This movement creates space and allows individuals to manage challenges, while making changes that are personally meaningful. At NU Psychology we use the principles of ACT to support our clients to increase overall well-being, manage Generalised and Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Depression.

  • Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) focuses on problem solving, solution building, and finding creative outcomes for life's challenges.  Solution Focused Therapy  is rooted in the belief that all individuals have the ability to change and grow in adaptive ways. This enables individuals to find new ways to face challenges and make changes in their lives.  NU Psychology believes in the inherent capacity in all individuals. We support our clients when they get stuck and help build capacity for current and future growth. We use Solution Focused Therapy to support our clients to manage symptoms of stress, Anxiety, Depression, and helping our clients find unique outcomes during times of change or adjustment.

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) helps individuals to better notice and understand their thoughts. As individuals learn to notice their thoughts and change their thought patterns, behaviours follow suit. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy allows individuals to develop an awareness of t thoughts, identify problems more clearly, and learn to distinguish between facts and assumptions. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy supports individuals in creating new habits, patterns, and ways of experiencing the world. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is especially helpful  in treating clinical concerns related to Generalized Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, Social Anxiety, Panic, Depression, and OCD.

  • Positive Psychology provides a unique platform for individuals to increase overall strength and wellness. Positive Psychology helps individuals to identify factors that contribute to happiness and well-being. This involves building positive emotions, engagement in meaningful activities and relationships, building a sense of one's own efficacy, and the ability to cope with adversity. At NU Psychology we use the concepts of Positive Psychology to increase positive emotions, meaning, engagement, and personal accomplishment. We work with our clients goals and values to support overall growth and well-being.
