Our Story - About Creative Sky Psychology
The Beginning
Shannon Kelly opened Creative Sky Psychology with a vision: to work with kids in a way that puts their strengths and passions first. Instead of focusing only on clinical issues and challenges, Shannon used a child’s natural interests — art, play, or problem-solving — to help them build emotion regulation, social skills, and resilience.
Shannon now offers workshops for parents and professionals and trains provisional psychologists to provide strength-based strategies beyond the therapy room
From One Room to Two Buildings
The first Creative Sky location was just a single office — until noise complaints from neighbouring tenants made it clear it was time for a change. No one is really sure if the noise complaints were because of Shannon or the children…
Today, Creative Sky Psychology has two locations side-by-side, with twelve therapy offices, each home to a psychologist with specialized expertise.
Along Came NU Psychology
Our Sister Company For Supporting Adults
While Creative Sky Psychology specializes in supporting children, teens, and families, we know that adults need expert, compassionate care as well. That’s why we opened NU Psychology, our dedicated clinic for adult and teen mental health, located in building #4 beside Creative Sky.
NU Psychology offers specialized adult and teen support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, trauma, life and career transitions, and creating best life outcomes. With a strengths-based, narrative approach, our team helps clients rewrite the stories that no longer serve them — and creates new ones filled with possibility.

A Space Built for Client Comfort
Every detail of Creative Sky Psychology and NU Psychology has been designed with comfort, engagement, and inclusivity in mind:
Sensory corners for calming and grounding
Beanbags and tents for cozy connection
Left-brain toys and puzzles for kids who prefer logic over art
Therapy rooms affectionately nicknamed after their furniture — “Blue Couch Room”.
All of the artwork in the clinic is created by Shannon, who was an artist and photographer before becoming a psychologist — a personal touch that makes the space unique.

Our Approach – Strength-Based Therapy
At Creative Sky Psychology, we believe every child and teen already has the building blocks they need to thrive. We start with building upon an individual’s strengths and what’s going right: their interests, talents, and natural ways of learning.
When a child loves drawing, we might use art to discuss calming strategies. When a teen thrives on science or logic, we may weave problem-solving and brain science into therapy. When a preschooler lights up at pretend play, our child psychologists will use their imagination skills to build social success.
This approach is incredibly engaging and effective. Kids learn faster when engaged and with greater confidence when they can connect new skills to the things they already enjoy.
Our therapy is neurodiversity-affirming. We don’t see ADHD, autism, or other differences as deficits to be “fixed.” We see them as unique ways of experiencing the world. Our job is to help each child build tools that work for them — not force them into a one-size-fits-all model.
Children and teens leave our sessions feeling more capable, parents feel more hopeful, and families feel more connected.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We’re not a one-size-fits-all clinic. Every child and family is different, so we tailor therapy to your strengths, interests, and goals. Our team is collaborative, neurodiversity-affirming, and known for turning therapy into something kids actually look forward to. And yes — the “Good Vibes Office” is a real thing.
-
While our clinic was built with children and teens in mind, we also work with parents, families, and adults. If you’re an adult looking for therapy, our sister company, NU Psychology, is located next door and supports adults.
-
Strength-based therapy starts with what’s going right. We use your child’s natural interests — whether that’s art, sports, Lego, or strategy games — to build new skills like emotion regulation, social connection, and problem-solving. It’s engaging, effective, and designed to help kids feel more capable.
-
Absolutely. Parents are an important part of a child’s growth. We work with you to understand strategies, support progress at home, and feel confident about your child’s next steps. Sometimes that’s through check-ins, sometimes through parent coaching sessions, and sometimes in workshops.
-
Yes! We run interactive workshops for schools, parent groups, and community organizations on topics like emotion regulation, social skills, and strength-based support. We can customize them to your group’s needs — whether that’s a lunch-hour session or an online forum
