Evidence & Editorial Policy

How We Create & Review Our Content

Everything we publish is written and reviewed by registered psychologists at our Calgary child psychology clinic. This page explains how our content is created, how it's reviewed, and the evidence-based standards that stand behind it — so you can trust that what you read here is accurate, current, and genuinely helpful.

Our Commitment to Evidence-Based Practice

At Creative Sky Psychology, the clinical information we share is grounded in established psychological research and shaped by real experience supporting children, teens, and families here in Calgary. Our goal is simple: to give parents accurate, compassionate, and up-to-date information they can actually use — never oversimplified, never sensationalized.

We write about anxiety, ADHD, autism, OCD, trauma, and the everyday struggles of childhood the way a psychologist would explain them to a parent across the room — warmly, clearly, and with respect for how much you already understand about your own child.

How Our Content Is Created

Our articles, service pages, and parent resources are written by, or in close collaboration with, the registered and provisionally registered psychologists on our clinical team. Each piece draws on current psychological research, recognized clinical frameworks, and the day-to-day experience of working with children and families.

We deliberately avoid copying diagnostic manuals or generic medical websites. Instead, we aim to explain what's happening beneath a child's behaviour, why it happens, and what tends to help — because understanding, not labelling, is where meaningful change begins.

Our Clinical Review Process

Clinical content is reviewed by a registered psychologist on our team before it is published, and revisited on a regular cycle to make sure it reflects current best practice. When research or clinical guidance evolves, we update the relevant pages rather than leaving older information in place.

Where a page has been clinically reviewed, we note that it was reviewed by a registered psychologist along with the date it was last updated, so you can always see how current the information is.

Author Credentials

Every psychologist at Creative Sky Psychology is a registered or provisionally registered member of the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), the regulatory body that oversees the practice of psychology in Alberta. You can read about each psychologist's training, specializations, and areas of focus on our team of Calgary child psychologists.

Creative Sky Psychology was founded by Shannon Kelly, Registered Psychologist, who brings over 20 years of experience supporting Calgary children and families and provides clinical oversight across the clinic's work.

References & Source Material

Our content draws on reputable, evidence-based sources in psychology and child mental health. Where helpful, we point families toward trusted organizations for further, professionally maintained information:

Client Confidentiality & Testimonials

Protecting our clients' privacy is a professional and ethical responsibility we take seriously. In keeping with the standards of the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), we do not publish client testimonials or reviews on our website. Nothing a family shares with us is ever used for promotion.

Instead, we hope the depth and care of our content speaks for itself — and we're always glad to answer your questions directly so you can decide whether our clinic feels like the right fit for your child.

Update Frequency

We review our clinical content on a regular basis and update individual pages whenever practice guidance, research, or clinic information changes. Pages that have been clinically reviewed display a "last updated" date so their currency is always clear.
